A jeep carrying 300 kg of explosives blew up near Chennai killing 16. Police said a short circuit caused the explosives to blow up.
The jeep was carrying the slurry explosives along with the detonators against statutory safety regulations. This has been confirmed by a team of explosives experts who examined the blast site.
