Arms Trail: May 5, 2007.

CM of Tamil Nadu has made it clear that any harm or threat to India’s security will not be taken lightly by the government.

The shooting and abducting of the Indian fishermen has become a serious issue and LTTE leadership summoned Manaalan and questioned him.

Meanwhile Chief Minister had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting him to secure the release of the fishermen and to direct the Indian High Commission in Colombo to do the needful.

The state government also said that it was making all efforts to secure the release of 12 fishermen abducted by the LTTE.

AIADMK supremo has pointed out that the policy note for police tabled recently in the assembly stated that Sri Lankan Tamils were behind the smuggling of arms from Tamil Nadu to Sri Lanka. But not a word was there on the LTTE's involvement, she said.
